Pilates is all about incredibly precise movements and it demands a lot of concentration. I tend to liken it to becoming a “Professional Race Car Driver of Your Own Body”.
As funny as it sounds, Pilates is based on the belief that ‘the way exercises are done is more important than the exercises themselves’. In fact the sheer amount of concentration used in Pilates Class can be likened to a form of Pratyahara (meaning ‘withdrawal of the senses’ in Sanskrit)an important element of Yogic path to meditation.
This hones your minds ability to be lucid, think clearly and precisely at anytime, anywhere you need it… Cool huh?
